Healing relies strongly on the power of positive relationships. These relationships often come in different forms such as the relationship between a parent and child, the relationship between a person and God, or even the relationship we have with ourselves. In therapy we will explore these different relationships and move towards a place of acceptance to support healing. My clients tend to present with symptoms of autism, anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, inexperience with coping skills, stress, compassion fatigue, or other emotional distress. Our sessions may include exploring and processing: purpose, spirituality, faith, self-compassion, emotional identification, communication skills, parenting, self-worth, or any other concerns that may arise during treatment.

We will collaborate to establish healing from anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and the day-to-day challenges we may encounter in our lives.  I believe the child-parent bond is a great example of the power of a positive relationship and I will collaborate with parents to optimize their children’s healing process. I also offer child-parent relationship parenting that assists in strengthening and utilizing the child parent bond to promote healing in the home environment.

We will begin by establishing a professional relationship founded on unconditional acceptance, empathy, genuineness, and faith in your ability to grow according to an individualized treatment plan. As we progress, therapy will look different based on the personalized needs of each individual client. As a licensed Professional Counselor-Associate, I offer a variety of treatment modalities including Play Therapy, Expressive Arts and traditional talk therapies. I operate primarily from a client-centered perspective that emphasizes the power of a therapeutic relationship, unconditional acceptance of self, and faith in the client’s ability to grow and heal according to personal goals. As needed, I may introduce techniques or skills from other theories to best meet the needs of the client. These may include breathing techniques, mindfulness, and art activities. I am also available to include prayer or scripture as requested.

I have spent many years working with children and their parents in a daycare/preschool setting and serve regularly with my church’s children’s ministry. I have developed a passion for improving adult-child communication and fostering spiritual development from a young age. When I am not working, I am often working on various art projects, reading a new book, or playing the occasional video game.
