If you’ve felt a little lost or stuck, or like something just isn’t right, or maybe even felt nothing at all, therapy is a great space to figure things out. In today’s world, it’s easy to lose touch with ourselves and our feelings. I view the therapy experience as collaborative and client-driven. What brings you here? What do you hope to gain from the therapy experience? You might have specific goals you want to achieve, or you might just need a safe space to untangle the knots in your brain; we will collaborate and decide together what best meets your needs. In the work we do, I use compassion, encouragement, humor, and what I like to call tender candor to support you during our sessions. I strive to create a space where you are free to come and be just as you are.

My approach with adults and teens comes from individual psychology, meaning we will work on understanding the root causes of why you feel the way you feel and how that shaped who you are today, and how healthy and genuine connection with others brings greater joy and meaning into our lives. I view our work from a trauma-informed lens and utilize skills from other approaches like dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and attachment theory. I am also a board-certified music therapist, which may come into our work as well.

My approach with children comes from child-centered play therapy, which harnesses the natural language of children and combines it with a safe, therapeutic environment to create a space where a child can grow. In these sessions, your child will be fully accepted just as they are so that they can learn skills, communicate, and build healthy relationships.

To create change, at times we must get comfortable with being uncomfortable. But in our work together, we will create a therapeutic relationship that is warm, genuine, and built on trust and mutual respect so when things feel difficult, you’ll know you’re not alone and you’ll feel confident about taking those next steps

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate Candidate under the supervision of Dr. Kay Trotter, LPCS, RPTS, NCC. I received my Master of Arts in Music Therapy from Texas Woman’s University and my Master of Science in Counseling from Texas Women’s University.

Fun Facts

I am a huge sports fan, specifically the Dallas Mavericks and Dirk and Formula One racing. When I was in middle school, I had a letter to the editor published in the Dallas Morning News about the Mavs and I was “fan of the month” on Dirk’s official fan page.
