If you’ve been feeling lost, stuck, or like something isn’t right, or maybe you’ve been feeling nothing at all, therapy can help you figure things out. It’s easy to lose touch with ourselves and our feelings in today’s world. I believe that therapy should be a collaborative and client-driven experience. What brings you here? What do you hope to gain from therapy? You might have specific goals you want to achieve or need a safe space to untangle the knots in your brain; we will work together to decide what best meets your needs. In our work, I use compassion, encouragement, humor, and what I like to call tender candor to support you during our sessions. I strive to create a space where you are free to come and be just as you are.

My approach with adults and teens is multifaceted, drawing from individual psychology, trauma-informed lens, and skills from other approaches like dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and attachment theory. This diverse toolkit allows us to work on understanding the root causes of why you feel the way you feel, how that has shaped who you are today, and how healthy and genuine connections with others can bring greater joy and meaning into our lives. I’m also a board-certified music therapist, which may also come into our work.

My approach with children is centered around their unique needs and experiences. I employ child-centered play therapy, which uses the natural language of children and combines it with a safe, therapeutic environment to create a space where a child can grow. In these sessions, your child will be fully accepted just as they are so that they can learn skills, communicate, and build healthy relationships.

To create change, we must sometimes get comfortable with being uncomfortable. But in our work together, we will create a therapeutic relationship that is warm, genuine, and built on trust and mutual respect, so when things feel difficult, you’ll know you’re not alone and feel confident about taking those next steps.

I am a licensed professional counselor associate candidate under the supervision of Dr. Katherine Calo, LPCS, RPTS, and NCC. I received my Master of Arts in Music Therapy from Texas Woman’s University and my Master of Science in Counseling from Texas Woman’s University.

Fun Facts

As a passionate sports enthusiast, I have a profound love for the Dallas Mavericks, particularly Dirk Nowitzki, and Formula One racing. During my middle school years, I experienced the thrill of having a letter to the editor published in the Dallas Morning News discussing the Mavericks. Additionally, I was honored to be recognized as the “fan of the month” on Dirk’s official fan page, which brought me immense joy and pride.
